Security Notice , January 14, 2007
Security Notice (based on the information received from the British High Commission)

Although the situation appears calm and there is no unrest or disturbances on the surface, the situation remains very fluid and events may move suprisingly fast should there be developments.
Until further notice: travel outside the Diplomatic Enclave should be avoided. Although the initial curfew between 2300hrs and 0500hrs has been lifted it could be reinstated at any time.

It is advised that Dutch citizens limit their movements and monitor announcements that are published in the local press or announced in the local media.

For Embassy staff (incl. spouses and family members):

* Travel outside the Diplomatic zone should NOT be considered unless with prior approval from the BVA
* Change/cancel appointments for the rest of the week unless within the Diplomatic Zone.
* Anyone anticipating having problems getting to work should consult their head of department in the first instance.
* Staff are reminded to carry their mobile phone at all times to ensure adequate communication.

Please report immediately if any suspicious activities are observed. Information from local staff and drivers is always welcome.
