Travel outside the Diplomatic area is PERMITTED

Business as usual. You will be reminded of specific areas to be avoided and should pay heed to any advisory notices.
The Awami League will have a grand meeting/demonstration today 10 January 2007 at 1400 hours in Paltan Maidan, to announce their future plans. All roads, railway and river systems and ports are open outside of Dhaka.

Due to this demonstration, the police have banned all kinds of vehicles from travelling on eight roads around the Paltan Maidan.
