Dutch companies visit shipbuilding sector Bangladesh
 
The Embassy of the Kingdom of The Netherlands and Ananda Shipyard & Slipways Ltd. jointly organised a match making seminar for Dutch marine equipment producing companies and representatives of the Bangladeshi shipbuilding sector in the Westin Hotel in Dhaka, on January 30. Holland Marine Equipment, a business association of the Dutch maritime sector, supported the seminar. The objective of the seminar was to introduce the Dutch companies to the Bangladeshi shipbuilding sector and explore potential for cooperation.

The Dutch companies were component producers and service providers for the shipbuilding sector. Participating Dutch companies were: Vuyk Engineering Groningen, Dagin Marine Technology, Heatmaster, Rubber Design, Winteb, Eurovalve, Neddeck Marine, HRP, and Gea Bloksma.

Dr. Abdullahel Bari, Chairman of Ananda Shipyard & Slipways, opened the seminar. Lt. Col (Retd) Faruk Khan, MP, Hon’ble Minister for Commerce acted as Chief Guest of the seminar. Mrs. Doris Voorbraak, Chargé d’Affairs of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, also addressed the participants.

During the morning session the participants from the Netherlands presented their goods and services. In the afternoon a match making event was organised to allow the Bangladeshi companies to have separate meetings with the Netherlands companies and discuss business opportunities.

After the seminar, the Dutch companies will visit several shipyards in Dhaka and Chittagong.
